How Far is Too Far?
While making a pitstop after work yesterday, a woman approached me about my son. She asked how old he was and after I told her, she begin telling me that we learn the most between, I believe she said, ages 1-6. She told me had I started with him sooner, he would have been reading by age two. My first instinct was to think "wow," but then I started thinking that maybe we push kids too hard sometimes. I'm all for my baby being as smart as he can possibly be, but I also want him to enjoy his childhood years doing "child" things. Basically, I don't want him to grow up faster than he needs to, especially since I sometimes find myself wishing I could be a kid again sometimes. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but the link to the site she gave me is here.
