October 3rd: Race for the Cure

I got this email from a friend today:

Did you know? Breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women? One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

Did you know? The most proven and significant risk factors for getting breast cancer are being female and getting older.

Did you know? Maryland has the fifth highest rate of breast cancer in the United States.

This is why I am participating in the 2010 Susan G. Komen Maryland Race for the Cure this October 3rd in Hunt Valley. Will you join me?

By donating to Komen Maryland you may be helping someone in your own neighborhood. 75% of the money donated in Maryland stays in Maryland. The rest goes to fund national breast cancer research, often occuring at Maryland institutions. The time is right is for you to help in the fight against breast cancer.

Follow This Link to visit the website or this link to visit my friend's site.  =)

Recently I told myself that I wanted to start doing charity work so this seemed perfect to post (along with the Flapjack Fundraiser.  Even if you can't make it out on October 3rd, you can still donate!  If we all help out, we'll get to the goal faster!!
